Spinach and Feta Turkey Burgers

Ingredients

454g1lb lean ground turkey

1 clove garlic, finely chopped

125mL1/2 cup crumbled light feta cheese

125mL1/2 cup finely chopped red onion

500ml2 cups cooked spinach, squeezed dry and finely chopped

1 egg, beaten

Salt and pepper to taste

15mL1 tbsp Crisco® Canola or Vegetable Oil for grilling

6 mini pita breads (48g each)

75mL1/3 cup store bought tzatziki sauce

8 Bick’s® Sandwich Savers® 50% Less Salt Tangy Dill Pickles

Lettuce

Tomato

Red onion

Directions

 1 Combine all ingredients and shape into 6 small patties. Preheat barbeque grill to high.

 2 Lightly brush one side of patties with oil and place oiled side down on grill. Brush top sides with additional oil. Cook 3-5 minutes per side, or until an internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).

 3 Serve on mini pita breads and top with toppings.

Tip(s)

These burgers freeze really well, raw or cooked. To freeze them raw, wrap them individually in plastic wrap and then place in freezer bag. To cook from frozen, lightly oil them and place on hot grill. Add an additional 3-5 minutes cooking time per side.
